π Canon Ef 24 70 F2 8 Vs F4
wrote: "No doubt the two Tamron lenses will give you great results." Yes, this is a fact. They some are very good. As an example I don't know if I would choose the Tokina AT-X 16-28mm f/2.8 Pro FX Lens over my Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM Lens but there is no doubt I would take it over my Nikon
At the wide angle end of the zooms (both tested at 28mm), the Tamron was slightly sharper in the center at f/2.8 β f/4 but the Sony was sharper away from the center and towards the borders of the frame. However, at the other end of the zoom, the Tamron had significantly higher resolution and was generally sharper across the frame.
Costing $999, the Tokina 24-70mm f/2.8 isnβt cheap, but if it offers comparable image quality, it could represent great value compared to such own-brand options as the $1749 Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM or the $1797 Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G ED. We ran the Canon EF version of the Tokina 24-70mm f/2.8 though our industry-standard tests to see how
Something like the EF 400mm f/5.6 L USM, or EF 500mm f/4 L IS II USM, or maybe the EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS II combined with a Canon EF 1.4x III or EF 2x III Extender. If you use an extender, you will need a wide aperture lens so your camera will still Auto Focus with the extra stop (1.4x) or two stops (2x) of aperture the extender will cost you.
The 24-70 is much better in my opinion because the focus is much faster and locks on. with consistant confidence, the 28-70 was very sharp from f4 , 3.5 was acceptable and 2.8. only if there was no option. The 24-70 is very sharp period. I am confident you would appreciate the difference with your level of skills.
Gen 2 much better. The RF 24-105 has IS, is light and portable, your mirrorless has much better low light noise control. I have pics in LR from the EF 24-70 Gen 1, the Gen 2, the RF 24-70 F2.8, and the RF 24-105 F4.0 (plus a lot of other lenses.) The RF 24-105 lives on the camera almost as much as the RF 100-500.
I've owned both at the same time previously. Image quality is hard to distinguish unless you pixel peep. The RF 24-105 is significantly better than the EF version, which made choosing the 24-70 easier betweenthe EF versions. But as others have mentioned, which one you choose depends on your needs.
Has rounded aperture blades. Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS. Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD. Similar to the number of aperture blades, rounded blades affect the way the light gets through to the sensor. Rounded blades, often only found on more expensive lenses, improve the appearance of the out-of-focus areas.
