It’s still better and easier than having a manual box, in my opinion. “It is a ‘robotised manual’ gearbox. There is a conventional gearbox and clutch but the clutch pedal and I drive, amongst motorhomes, a 2014 Ducato minibus. Used on an actual bus timetable so lots and lots of clutch operations (manual gearbox). At about 35000 miles the clutch slave cylinder failed. Cost of part £120 , cost of complete job (gearbox off and on and clutch bleeding etc.) £900. Intermittent Power Loss / 3 ltr Fiat Comfortmatic gearbox. Hope someone out there can help. We have a 2008 Autotrail on a Fiat Ducato X250, 3 litre with Comfortmatic gearbox. Total mileage 8200. We have had it for 18 months during which time we have had an irritating intermittent fault which has showed itself about 8 times over about 6000 miles. Stopped at for example traffic lights, gearbox in Drive with the annoying start/stop function disengaged, and foot on footbrake, the gearbox drops into a sort of neutral. Sometimes with this the motor will have a slight miss. Sometimes difficult to select DRIVE. Sometimes may have gearbox warning light on and reverts to only 3rd gear available. All of the above will have this associated ticking sound. RV may run fine for 3or 4 trips away until for no reason these problems occur. Any ideas please. Has anyone experienced a problem with the small translucent reservoir fitted on the near side of the firewall adjacent to the main transmission reservoir in a 2011 3 litre 180 Ducato. My understanding is the this reservoir should contain brake fluid, however, the reservoir is not retaining the fluid Location. essex. Apr 28, 2008. #3. if your ducato is 1999/2002 it is a common problem..as you look at the front of the vehicle from outside, on the right hand side there is a water drain from the windscreen scuttle. the problem is it drains right onto the gearbox and lets water in via the reversing light switch, i extended the pipe on mine with 1P7uv1.
